3. Source of materials

All public data used by this platform — including voting records, meeting agendas, and videos — is sourced from publicly available content posted by the covered jurisdiction (for example, the City of Colorado Springs). Meeting videos are transcribed by Civix IQ's proprietary process for accessibility and analysis. Images of members are sourced from public government webpages. We do not use official government logos, seals, or trademarks.

4. Platform independence & partnerships

Civix IQ, LLC owns and operates CivicPrinciples. Integrity Matters, a Colorado nonprofit organization recognized (or seeking recognition) under Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code, is a separate and independent organization. Integrity Matters does not own, operate, control, or direct the platform and has no authority over its methodology, scoring, editorial decisions, or analytical conclusions.

Under a written partnership agreement, Integrity Matters may promote the platform as part of its civic accountability and public-engagement activities and may receive a revenue share associated with subscriptions sourced through its referrals. Subscription purchases are commercial transactions with Civix IQ. They are not charitable contributions to Integrity Matters and are not tax-deductible. Civix IQ and Integrity Matters maintain separate governance and operations. Related-party relationships are governed through written agreements, recusal procedures, and applicable nonprofit disclosure requirements.

5. Scoring and evaluations

Member scores are generated using Civix IQ's proprietary evaluation model based on 15 core principles of good governance. These scores reflect an assessment of alignment with those principles, not a judgment of character, legality, or intent. The scoring system is applied consistently and reviewed regularly for fairness. Scoring is applied uniformly to all elected officials covered by the platform and is not modified at the request of, or for the benefit of, any third party — including Integrity Matters or any other promotional partner.

6. Reuse and attribution

All content and analysis on this platform is the intellectual property of Civix IQ unless otherwise noted. You may share or quote content for non-commercial purposes, with proper attribution to CivicPrinciples / Civix IQ.
